About Us

Dr. Alina Khomenko

It takes courage to seek help. Whether you have tried therapy that you’ve found to be unsuccessful, or whether this is the very first time you are reaching out, I am here to help you on your journey to take your life back.

I am a Licensed Psychologist and I provide in-person and teletherapy services to individuals 18 years and older, who are seeking help with OCD, anxiety, and related disorders.

You may have found that in trying various ways to get rid of your anxiety, it has only grown over time and has prevented you from doing the things you want to do - achieving your goals, enjoying your relationships, and succeeding in school or at work. I am here to help you realize that there are real, researched, and effective tools to get you back to living the life that you want.

I approach treatment with compassion, empathy, and curiosity. I believe that therapy is a partnership and I work closely with you to identify your individual goals and needs. I enjoy empowering and guiding my clients to move toward meaningful progress and making changes that are fueled by their values. I use evidence-based approaches to treatment, which include:

Treatment Approach

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Habit Reversal Training (HRT)

Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT)

In addition, I strive to create an atmosphere that is safe, accepting, and supportive. In our work together, you can expect to learn and actively practice skills that will get you on the road to recovery. I view the opportunity to be entrusted with your treatment as an honor and hold this responsibility with the utmost care.

I obtained my Master’s Degree in School Psychology from Brooklyn College in 2010 and worked as a School Psychologist for several years before deciding to return to school to pursue my doctorate degree. I then obtained my Doctor of Psychology degree from the APA accredited Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers University in 2017. Beginning with my training at the Tourette’s Syndrome Clinic at Rutgers University, I have since acquired extensive specialized experience working with individuals with OCD, Anxiety Disorders, Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors, and Tourette’s Syndrome. I have also provided treatment for more severe and treatment resistant presentations of OCD through an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for OCD at a specialty practice in Austin, TX.

From 2019-2023, I have had the privilege to share my passion and excitement for my areas of specialization by serving as a clinical supervisor for Postdoctoral Fellows at an Anxiety and OCD specialty clinic. I also had the opportunity to serve as Training Director, overseeing the clinical training program. I have completed intensive training in OCD treatment through the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) and am committed to ongoing learning and professional development to remain current on the treatment I provide to my clients.
